With each new painting I begin I am thinking about you, the viewer, and hoping you will journey along with me through the landscapes I create.  This oil painting was inspired by a lovely afternoon in Summer.  I hope you enjoy "taking a walk" through this painting.

Each Summer some very special friends who have become family over the course of many years invite us up to enjoy a summer getaway. What a gift to savor the pleasure of spending time on "their Island" in Maine.
The colors are glorious, the light is magical and the people are lovely. 

My current series, "Lane's Island Through the Seasons," is an expression of my love for this place and my gratitude to them for sharing it with me.
